#2: how interesting is your circle?
What’s on my mind
Every time a non-empowering thought comes up, replace it with a more uplifting one.
One that’s aligned with your higher self.
Because thoughts matter.
They’re like the raw material you put in your mind. And what comes out is dependent on that input.
Your thoughts transform into your actions. Those continuous actions shape your habits. Sum of those habits makes up your days. And the chain of days is what we call life.
You have control over your life, because you can choose that initial input:
Your thoughts.

💡 How to get new ideas
If you’ve been collecting and exploring ideas for a side project, or trying to come up with a new one, this Paul Graham essay is a good accelerator.
He writes, for an idea to take off, it’s best to build something a small number of people want a large amount (as opposed to something a large number of people want a small amount).
Not all ideas of that type are good startup ideas, but nearly all good startup ideas are of that type.
🔢 80/20 your life
This is an insightful and short read by Mark Manson on applying the Pareto Principle to our daily lives.
Pareto Principle coined the idea that 80% of results comes from 20% of action.
🏔 50 crucial principles
This unconventional list is worth reading over and over again. The point on circle of competence resonated with me a lot.
…being an expert in one area doesn’t make you an expert in anything else. Be clear about what you know and don’t know.
This is one to keep going back to for constant reminders.
❓ It’s all in the question
This university professor’s tweet (and its 626 thread replies) made me think about the importance of words to maximize engagement in work and life.
Maybe next time, replace “does it make sense?” with “what was the most unclear part about what I just said?”.
🏅 23 laws of interesting
Interesting things happen when you do interesting things.
The best way to be interesting is to be interested.
The more interesting your circle, the more interesting you will be.
Final Thought
If you don’t have the time to go through any of these ideas straightaway, use Pocket or Instapaper to save them for later.
If you need help choosing between them, or use any other apps/extensions for this purpose, let me know by replying to this email.
